Note: This compilation is NOT an official release. This is my own mix of all the best Screaming Trees songs spanning their entire career. Disc one contains songs from thier independent releases. which were previously released by SST, Velvetone and Sub Pop.'Clairvoyance' was thier first album released by Velvetone Records and was previously available only on vinyl. It was reissued on CD for the first time in January 2005 by Hall of Records, a different indie label.

This is a great mix. Clairvoyance is a really stellar album - totally great. I was so happy to see it released on cd finally. I prefer this volume to the second one, b/c that's when I remember seeing the band live. Amazing powerhouse, even though there were only 20 people there - this was in '88 or so.
Them along with Mudhoney are the only two bands I really listen to from that whole grunge thing. There 80s recordings were incredible. Mark Lanegan and those Conner boys knew how to write great rock riffs.
