2007 was an amazing year for music. I think the last time I was this impressed was 1997, when it seemed like I could turn the radio to any station or pick up any music magazine and discover a great song or album. I agree with pretty much all the year-end charts, more or less. Even the ones that are a little slanted or unbalanced have deserving albums or artists in their top slots. Even if I wouldn't have voted the same way, I respect those choices.

So you can imagine it was quite a challenge to winnow the pack to three CDs of material. But I managed.
