Comment:
I think maybe there's some minor flow issues, but I think I got a good mixture of more famous exports and bands someone outside of Mass maybe wouldn't have heard of. Purposefully not included: Extreme, Godsmack, Staind, Aerosmith (though I briefly considered throwing in something early by the latter). Aside from being a local landmark of sorts (my parents took us mini-golfing there all the time when I was a kid), the route one mini-golf dinosaur is also an appropriate cover model because it happens to be part of a mix trade by people on the Dinosaur Comics message board.Feedback:
Some great picks, track 17 is an all time fave and I'm laughing out loud at the title of track 22 but so help me jesus I never want to hear that song for as long as I live!!!
That's so great. Most of the kitschy landmarks in my town are extinct. I miss the blue whale carwash. Nice mix.
Nice mix...haven't even thought of some of these bands since I left Boston 5 years ago (i.e. The Sheila Divine). Is that the mini golf place near Newburyport?
The mini-golf place pictured is in Saugus, a little past the Square One mall.
I was too lazy to put it in, but there actually is an mp3 of "I'm Sorry Your Cat Has Ass Cancer" online I'll edit to link to now (along with Freezepop's "Harebrained Scheme). It's really as much about making fun of dramatic goth metal cliches as it is about tragic feline illness, but I do hope nobody who recieves this cd is an easily offended cat lover, and that's kind of why I threw it towards the end. I ended up seeing Robby Roadsteamer among other acts at a new year's show last december, and it's maybe a more entertaining thing to see live than listen to at home (check out the audio/video section of his site for examples of his "drunken masshole/ professional wrestler" type persona, along with a couple of funny music videos). By coincidence, he actually has a likeness of the very same bright orange T-Rex tattooed on his arm.

Inspirational, entertaining and fun, and in that order.
