The track-list admittedly ended up pretty John-heavy, so I was glad I could fit at least a couple of George songs into the concept. Final tally of lead vocals: John - 6, Paul - 4, George - 2, Ringo - 0.

Outside of "Helter Skelter", this is pretty much as heavy as the album gets, really.

Another one with questionable ties to the concept, I suppose. But Eric Clapton's lead guitar playing brings at least a little bit of heaviness to it, it's a good closing track, and I think you need something at least a little bit lighter following up "Helter Skelter".

Some time ago, I read some music magazine's list of "heaviest albums ever", and somewhere on the list was the questionable, borderline trollish choice of The White Album. Granted, you could definitely make a case for "Helter Skelter" being important to the development of metal, but I was just imagining a diehard metal fan finally giving The Beatles a chance, then giving up in disgust the moment the album got to "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da". But it did get me to wondering whether it was possible to rearrange the double album into a credible "metal" (or at least hard rock) LP. The resulting playlist clocks in at about 38 minutes, which was reasonable for an album of the time.
