Comment:

My friend Drew sis a lot of driving once upon a time and over the years has commissioned mix tapes from me so that he'd have new music to listen to. This is the punk compilation that I made a while ago. Culled solely from the music I had on hand....looooong before cd burners and the internet. Looking at it now I realize two things. 1) how broadly I took the term punk. Still though "Rock This Town" inspires in me the same dancing that the other songs do. And 2) how bereft I am in the ladies of punk. Thanks God I'm online now.

Ah, the music of my youth. (Ok, I have to confess, I stumbled across a lot of this only after my youth was fading into adolescence, but I made up for lost time). Is the Talking Heads tracks labelled correctly?

Heh, Mott the Hoople...rock so pure and history-bound that it is indeed beautiful. Just seeing The Clash, Ramones, Talking Heads, Jam, Undertones, and The Who next to each other nearly brings a tear to my eye. Your only misstep is Jet. Even though that's a pretty good song and in a '70s retro rock way no less (although I'm not sure Iggy Pop has collected his royalties for it yet), since it's like 20 years older than every other song on here, it seems out-of-place. Small quibble, though

This mix is all over the place in a good way. Yes Jet looks weird in this company, good song but doesn't fit this theme. Oh, what the hell, this mix is a thing of nostalgic beauty. "Fascist Regime" my arse!
