Steelers Win! Mix
Comment:
A mix to celebrate the Steelers Super Bowl victory with a variety of Pittsburgh artists. (Louis Armstrong is not from Pittsburgh but Earl 'Fatha' Hines is.) By the way, two AOTMers appear on this.Other Pittsburgh artists I would have included (if I had room and / or owned anything of theirs on CD): Billy Eckstein, George Benson, Ahmad Jamal, Bullmoose Jackson, Christina Aguilera, Gravel, The Mystic Knights, Franky Yankovic, Brownie Mary, Robbie Kline and I'm sure I'm forgetting dozens of others.
Anyway, it wasn't pretty but my boys won!
Feedback:
Congrats on the win Mark. I know very little about the sport but I always look out for Pittsburg's results. A few years back I was working as a Youth and Community worker with under priveleged kids in my home town in Ireland, the same home town that Art Rooneys family come from. He visited our centre one day and presented the kids with footballs and Steelers hats (I still have mine to this very day)He was a very decent fellow and i'm sure there were quite a few people in Ireland who were smiling this morning. Oh as for the mix I dont know a lot but the 2 I do know are great. Go Steelers!
hey - nice li'l 'burg mix. for other pgh musicians, check out my "Pittsburgh Pebbles" discs. Yeah, it's a good day to be a Yinzer - that's local slang for Pittsburgh resident (especially if they have a prominent regional accent). I've never been a big football fan, but I think I've watched more football in the past 2 weeks than I ever did in the past few decades.
Thank God you don't own any Christina Aguilera! ;)
phooey. did you have a mix ready w/ Nirvana, Heart and Modest Mouse as well? anyhow. good mix, good game and congratulations.
Eminently listenable even notwithstanding Pittsburgh football.
That opener "starts me up".
Holy shit, you put a Donut People song on this! John will be seriously embarrassed, but I appreciate the nod. Great Framptons pick. And yes, it's a good time to be a Pittsburgher right now. :-)
Congrats!
Looks like a nice little mix - lots of stuff I'd like to hear as well. And congrats on the Superbowl, of course!
Congratulations! Nice mix.
