Comment:
I have know about my friend Pat's surprise 50th birthday party for about a month but somehow, until last night forgot about a present. Pat is always the life of the party and will never "lose it" because he is always "using it". He is the only person that I have ever seen put a condom over his head. Pat plays in a blues/rock band and I tried to put together a mix that might represent what the band might play at a gig, with a few tracks that hint at the old age thing. I cobbled this mix together from a couple of in progress mixes and filled in with songs that have "inside" meaning for Pat and myself. In making this mix I broke a number of "mixers rules". I am hoping to fly under the flamers radar by avoiding tracks by sting/bono/celine/paul/phil/john/yoko/steelydan/stevie nicks/billy joel/trudy styler. Just to make sure I also left off anything by martha stewart/donald trump/oprah/any of the bushes. If I have offended anyone please contact Rob, cause I don't care.Feedback:
"He is the only person that I have ever seen put a condom over his head" -- well for this small mercy, be grateful. If you attempted to explain the thought process behind this "wacky" prank, even if allowed unlimited time to do so, I would still have no comprehension. And don't get me started on the "life of the party" accolade. Now, if I put aside my "miserable-old-git" disdain for your good friend's sense of "fun", I can, at last, comment upon the mix you have so lovingly crafted for him. Well, it's a rocking good brew. This may well be "the life of the party". And without the aid of prophylactic props. Yeah, put this on and a splendid time is guaranteed for all. Oh, and what's all this "rules" nonsense? Pshaw a pibble upon those "God, I'm so cool" rule-making tossers.
Great mix, as always. In particular 11-14 and I love that Isley Bros tune.
Break all the rules you want! This one looks like a great gift!
LOVE that Isley track! I had a friend - female - who did that very thing with a condom; an odd party trick to be sure. However, if it's his thang...
P.S.
Your lack of concern at my offense offends me...

A Good set my friend!
OK, I have a LOT to say... (1)Steely Dan is good. (2)The Springsteen '75 Hammersmith Odeon concert actually brought tears to my eyes. That particular iteration of Thunder Raod gives me heart palpatations. (in a good way) (3)I can't find a misplaced track in this fine collection (4) Steely Dan is good.
I agree....it's very well done and not a clinker in the lot. Where's Sting? ;-)
Rules? What rules? I must be completely out of the loop because I can't tell which rules you're breaking. Looks like a fun mix--makes me wish I knew the inside meaning of some of the tracks. Also, I'm just wondering what caused your friend to put a condom over his head. Did he first warn everyone else not to try this at home?
What "old age" thing are you talking about? You just said he was only 50.
Great selections, looks like a rockin' mix.
I will tell Rob to knock some rules of thumb into you as if it was a knuckle sandwich! Break those rules!! That is a very good mix. But it would have been great with some Martha Stewart.
Looks OK by me. The Ramones -> B. B. King just about sums it up. And I do hope the condom was of the unlubricated kind, otherwise, ew.

Lots of good picks all through out this wonderful mix.
Looks fun to me.
Yes, what are the rules? This looks like jukey heaven. No three tracks in a row by Linkin Park so I think yr okay.
I'm smilin just reading the Travers pick, haven't heard that in years! Nice one.
I didn't know there were rules here.Does that mean there won't be any songs from Donald Trump's new CD? Darn it! Your friend will love your CD. 3 and 15 are great but 14 is my favorite!
