Comment:

For a friend, a combination of b-sides, early material, non-album cuts, and one recent single to catch up with Mr. Gordon Sumner. A lot of this material I first heard from this friend when I made the analogue first version of this mix 18 years ago, but that's a story for another time.

Notes: Eberhard Schoener is/was a German musician who hired the Police as part of the band for his album Video Magic in the late 1970s. Some seriously weird stuff. Strontium 90 were the Police plus Mike Howlett of the Gongs; these recordings were made before Roxanne. The version of "Every Little Thing She Does is Magic" was a demo Sting cut in the early 70s. Finally, the Radioactors were a miscellaneous band that also featured Howlett and cut this one-off single in 1978. Other cuts come from b-sides, the occasional live performance (Sting's turn in "The Threepenny Opera" from the late 80s), and the "Brimstone and Treacle" soundtrack. Many more of these than can fit onto one CD, but this is the best of the crop.

A very well researched, and beautifully presented mix. Most commendable and informative. However, given recent Sting related postings here on AOTM, I fear you have re-opened a large can of worms. Good luck.

I'm with Willie (Shakespeare) who once wrote "Ah Sting, where is thy Death?...or something like that.: )
Just kidding...nice layout, execution & cover-art. While not a fan I DO like his earlier work with The Police.

Hi--Love your mix. I have a question: Is there some way to get "If You There" and "Conversation with a Dog" on CD or MP3? I have the old records and cassettes from the 1980s. Thanks for any info.
