Comment:
My final Saxophone Mix (for a while) featuring the heavy hitters. Title is the answer to the question "How do you get four sax players to play in tune?"Feedback:
Comedy, great jazz and capital letters. What more does a man need? Have you considered opening a nightclub?
This mix is bad ... and that IS good.
"Salt Peanuts" is one of my favourites!
Not a bad pick in the bunch.
Yes, but how many sax players does it take to change a lightbulb? Two: one to change it and one to contemplate how Parker would have done it. Sorry. Anyway, my point here is that this looks fantastic - I love any sax music and you've made some great picks, not least the Coleman Hawkins one. Lovely stuff all round.
Love that sax....
This looks like a keeper. Just heard an interesting excerpt concerning Salt Peanuts on Ken Burn's Jazz Collection (DVDs)...how cyclical the world is...
Great selections.
Wonderful.
Looks fantastic Mark. Great final two selections.
Nice one, Mark.
A very reedy river.
Now THIS is my kind of sax mix. If only you'd included Albert Ayler, then the whole thing woulda been complete...
Everything you always wanted to know about sax! These are some pretty heavy hitters indeed . . .
(I'm sure you've heard about the MTV interviewer asking Bill Clinton back in 1992 who his favorite sax players were, and when he told her, she had to ask him, "But who is the loneliest monk?")
