Comment:

I've been thinking about this theme mix for awhile, inspired primarily by the Chuck E. Weiss tune: How many variations of the Dysfunctional Family / Relationship song could I put together. Some are darkly humorous, others deeply disturbing. I know I've only scratched the surface here, but the afflictions(as I see them) are:
1. Suspicious Husband / Cheating Wife?
2. Abandoned Sugar Daddy Begs
3. Cops Brother is a Criminal
4. Mom's a Compulsive Gambler
5. Mom's a Pill Popper
6. Alcoholic / Violent Father
7. Battered Child
8. Abusive Stepfather
9. Woman Fleeing from Abusive Relationship
10. Father Laments Junkie Supermodel Daughter
11. Woman Sexually Assaulted by Father and Uncles Kills Everybody
12. Man Finds Girlfriend in Bed with his Mother (jeez Chuck!)
13. Alter Boy Abused by Priest
14. "Kill the Father, F*** the Mother"
15. see 14

Thanks to Rob C for the Stones.

We are family, ha. Cool theme Mark. Great title too.
Different approach, but fans of dysfunctional families might also like to look at Teenage Temptress Does a Striptease for Step-daddy.

Interesting! Great collection of songs and a good execution of a theme that's difficult to deal with. Always enjoy a bit of Luka.

Very cool. You're welcome. And spifforiffic Oedipal ending you've got there... to think that I've *met* your mom... hope this doesn't reflect your feelings for her. ;-)

Reminds me too much of my days as a social worker (thank fuck they're long gone) but otherwise a damn fine mix.

The scariest part of this is that you could do at least a second edition (if not many more) with stuff like 10,000 Maniacs' "What's the Matter Here?" (abused child), Juliana Hatfield's "My Sister" (about a sibling she never even had), Weezer's "Say It Ain't So" (daddy issues & substance use), Sublime's "Wrong Way" (so many issues...), etc. Of course, the stuff you have here is better music.
