A 2 CD Set of some of my favorite female singers. This was alot of fun to put together as I was delving into alot of discs I hadn't listened to in awhile. My apologies to Ella, Sarah and Billie but I decided not to go that far back. Thanks to Mahdishain for the Eleni and Rob C for the Rickie Lee and for turning me onto Karen Dalton.

Great. Bonnie Raitt is a great artist. My mom was telling me when I say The Minus 5 last tuesday. That when she was younger she and her friends use to go and watch Bonnie Raitt at the Triangle bar in Minneapolis. That was before Bonnie Raitt was discoverd. What a lucky artist to see.

You're welcome. As you can expect, I like-to-love about half of this and am more or less indifferent to the rest, but it's a quality collection, nonetheless. That Rickie Lee track is totally choice and that's a fine Fred Neil cover by Ms. Dalton...

Whoa! Anyone interested in exploring the best and brightest in female solo artists from the last few decades would do well to cite this mix. Extra respect for eschewing all of the obvious material we would expect to see from these ladies - you have very unique and still top quality choices for each of them

Excellent - love the Sam Phillips, Neko Case and Dusty Springfield. I think if push came to shove, I would have to say that Dusty's my favourite female singer of all time. For some reason my music collection's always had far more male artists than female - this makes me want to make it a little more balanced! :)

Many of my favorite voices here, and not just the "pretty" ones. And Lucinda, Laura & Neko have a few vocal maneuvers that Ella, Sarah, & Billie didn't, so no apologies called for, I'd say.
