Comment:

A mix for running (so technically "road trip" fits) and the unfortunate malady that may occur if a loose fitting cotton shirt is worn.... I ran my first marathon last year (KY Derby Festival in Louisville)and this year I'm attempting to run a relay of it with my sisters (I'm really out of shape). Anyway, I have to run 12K, so I made this mix to listen to while running, although I certainly hope to finish running seven miles and change in under the 79:31 that this mix clocks in at.... Roughly forty years of rock and roll thrown together and I'm pretty sure it works. Some of these songs I've been trying to work into a mix for a while, including 1,2,8,9,14,16,22, and 30. 5,10,13, and 28 were free downloads from various spots. The Arctic Monkeys track was pure serendipity to stumble across at their purevolume.com page. Man, they rock. "Cut-Out Witch" is one of my favorite songs to run to and would always manage to hit when I needed a little boost. Strung some songs to create mini-themes. The Beatles to XTC to Blur is a nice progression and Cool As Kim Deal is followed by Pixies. I guess I could have used a song where Kim sings lead, but I really like Lovely Day. The only issue I'm having is the widely varying recording levels on some of the songs, but I'm trying to work that out. Mesh 86.

Excellent tunes, excellent cover. In terms of the 'varying recording levels', it does depend on the software you use for ripping. Look for a "normalize" option. It will let you set a range (I use 96% to 99%) and if the level is below, it brings it up and if over, down. Write me if you want to discuss. Again, fine mix!

Clever title (I employ Band-Aids for such when running above 15 miles to cut the chaffing). I use a discman for Nordic Tracking in Winter, but not when I run (too much added weight + I like thinking, unfettered by tunes, on the country roads when racking up the miles).
Ditto the "Normalizing" feature LSB mentioned. Are you using a stereo burner?
I think I'd like to hear this if you're up for a trade.

From 11 to 12....doesn't that mess with your pace a bit? ........ : D I am starting to giggle thinking how I would run to this. I like it for sure. Don't get me wrong. But I keep pondering how my heart would react.
