ACK!!! Our VP used the Baha Men track as a motivational tool a few years back and a co-worker played the Afroman tune at the end of every Friday for two years! (Although Black Betty does bring back fond memories of Hockey Games past). If I listen to this at work I may break out the paintball guns and get everybody all messy!
Ah, Ram Jam... they were the opening act for Foreigner (first tour for their first elpee, with their >then< 7 man line up... they came out and blew chunks (as opposed to making music) and were howled off the stage, but had the stones to come back out and ask, "Wouldn't you like to hear Black Betty?" Thereupon, we the audience went a tad berserk, and the guitarist took the mike and sang it. I wonder where they went off to...BTW, the act between these two Bad Boy Rockahs was The Little River Band, who sang in 5 part harmony and stole the show...Another Classic by A True Classic in her own right!
hehe, i love your covers DJ K.
Shouting back at ya and looking forward to the listen. Promise to get back to you zehi!
Great opening, Karen! I can see them be bopping on the beach, pointing fingers at the Daytona naysayers. Great segue into track two, very very pole dancingish. I don't do well with this material but have a great admiration for how you accomplish things. Uhm, screw the chatter here......I'm sold....I will continue my thoughts in a place more appropriate: CONGRATULATIONS.
Congrats on MOTW. You rock!
DJ Karen Adams let the dogs out! DJ Karen Adams gone wild! Congratulations DJ Karen Adams! This was fun.
I can't believe this was chosen as a Mix of the Week.
It's got 8 tracks on it with 2 of them being rubbish (Afroman's "Because I got High" and Baha Men's "Who let the Dog's Out").
I particularly like how the guy (jonpoi) who picked this mix to be featured adds his own sycophantic remarks, in effect congratulating himself on a horrible pick. Dude, I hope you at least tapped that. This is weak.

Music is My Radar gets the Asshole of the Weak award!! Yeah! Hey, dickhead, I meant what I wrote and for reasons you obviously pointed out quite well. DJ Karen good for you. Keep it up. You have balls where others flame jealously. It's a fine fine mix.
Congrats DJ Karen it's about time you diserve this title. Well done even though I HATE track one.
Congratulations! Well done!
Many Congratulations - long overdue.Looking forward to hearing the DJ Karen polish applied to some of these tracks . . . . (and you've generated some great reactions!! - well done!!)
If it consoles those who would rather have seen another mix honored, consider it payback for all the times DJ Karen has posted a great mix and been passed over.
While I wouldn't have chosen it as MOTW, anyone who listens to it has to admit it's mixed well and stays true to its theme.

Musically this isn't my bag, but I'm with Nightcrawler on this one. DJ Karen has a slew of grand mixes to her credit and deserves a nod for her dedicated mix ethic alone! But why is this party only 31 minutes long?
Hey ! You are now officially on the Dubai traffic jam scene . . . . had a great time listening to this today in the car. I especially loved Matisyahu. One of my customers even asked for a copy. Congrats again. Definitely worthy of MOTW.'what does it all mean?' indeedy . . . .
Not a party I'd fit comfortably into either, but I never pass up a DJ Karen mix. From cover to content she definitely understands the *art* of the mix. Congrats on MOTW.
Wtf?! I second your nomination of Mr. Radar as Asshole of the Week. Sure, there are songs here that I don't like personally, but that doesn't mean that Karen didn't capture exactly what she intended to capture with the content of this mix. Congrats, Karen!
Well, thanks for the honour. What a surprise! For those who have showered this feedback section with words of recognition and who understand the meaning of "concept", I have reloaded the main title along with its companion ALIVE AT SPRINGBREAK '06: PERFECT PLACE TO MEET YOUR FUTURE BABY'S MAMA.You will also find STRANGELY EMPTY III: Quando and Instant Whoop-Ass (Old School Blend) reloaded if you want to collect 'em. Just wanna give a little back, y'know?!!?As far as the negative comment, I used to spin in warehouses on Spadina and on Yonge St., chilled at CHUMCity, hung out in East York, Oakville and the like in the Greater Toronto Area (GTA). BIG DRE did work for Chris Sheppard and Quality Records when he lived in Toronto and even after he moved to Fort Erie (Population: 24,000). We have found folks in the Tdot to be most intelligent and tolerant. Oh well. Music is My Radar has not changed my feelings on the city or the wonderful people in it. However, he did inspire a new mix subtitled, The Show That No One Came To. Stay tuned!!!
Well, I think Mr Radar completely missed the point. A DJ Karen mix is instantly recognisable, and always thoroughly enjoyable. So what if a mix contains a track you don't like, it's only three minutes of your life - get over it! This is a fab listen, congrats on a long overdue MOTW and good god keep up the great work.
Congratulations! Keep whoopin' ass!
