Comment:
Ok, I know, I know...some of the songs aren't really "power pop" but I thought they all fit that summertimey, windows down, sand between your toes feeling. Enjoy!
Feedback:
You're right - most of it's not power pop, but it's pretty damn melodic. About half the bands here are personal faves, but extra thumbs up for FoW (perhaps the greatest power pop song ever), Wannadies, Spoon, Sloan, and Exploding Hearts.
Shame on you for not posting the mp3 download of this cool mix. I've been trying to do something like this but it seems Jason Falkner and Brendan Benson are the only power pop artists I know these days.
nicely done. who cares if it's power pop? it's fun as hell!
Pop or otherwise, lotsa great stuff. And the always-welcome inclusion of Beulah, the New Porns, and of course "Sick Of Myself" (perhaps the perfect example of Power Pop) more than makes up for the Red Hot Chili Peppers, all of whom should be lined up and shot.
Excellent, excellent, excellent!
