Comment:
Spent last week back in Pittsburgh, saw a Pirate Game, did a little fishin. saw "The Devil and Daniel Johnston" with Rob C, chased my nephews and neice around, saw the Avett Brothers at Club Cafe and went moderately nuts at my favorite CD shop on the planet (Paul's). This mix is a result of those purchases (and seeing the movie). It starts out a little melancholy, gets a bit twangy, then Worldy, mellows out, goes a tad raucus and lands on Louie. All in all a fun ride and a nice pile o discs. Title from the Johnston track.Feedback:
Ahh...the CD purchase binge. Is there anything finer? Great mix, great shoppin'!
Great mix, my friend, and even greater to hang with you (however briefly, with my schedule right now--bad timing) last week. I'm really considering purchasing the entire available Johnston catalog after seeing that movie last week.
Looks very good. Love that Blue Rodeo pick and of course Daniel Johnston.
Yes it's fun fun fun 'til daddy takes the tv away. I like it, I really do.
A fun ride indeed. The last 5 in particular look damn fine..
Sounds like a perfect week - maybe a perfect mix, too. Nice job.
Really excellent. I hope to make it to Pittsburgh one of these days.
Very inspired mix! Maybe a trip to Pittsburgh is what we all need?!
Very nice especially the cobras, howling wolf, the ramones and louie.
Must have been an eclectic shopping trip. Props on Blue Rodeo, among many others.
God bless the out-of-control record binge. There's something very rewarding about it. Lots to like here, namely the Bo Diddley and Detroit Cobras.
That's a good week's work. (& makes me want to see the movie!)
Lovin' this, start to finish, but especially the Diddley and the inclusion of one of my favorite Beatles tunes.
You definitely did well with your purchases! This is so great - love the Devo, Alison Krauss and Jenny Lewis. I really want to see The Devil & Daniel Johnston but haven't got round to it yet!
CD binge buying helps maintain my sanity out here in France, come to think of it cd's are just about the only purchases I ever make - Oh to have a good record store at hand though! Some great stuff here & The Beatles are my top tip for the future reckon they're gonna be huge!
Money well spent! I spend mine on sex, drugs, rock and roll and just piss the rest up the wall. I should learn from you . . . .
I love that whole Allison Krauss cd. How is the Seu Jorge cd?
Love it!
fantastic mix throughout.
great stuff
