Comment:

I'm sad cos Syd shuffled off his mortal coil. I know he didn't do much in the last few decades, but I'm still sad, and it got me feeling kinda melancholy. So, this mix, which started off as a kinda psychy tribute, eventually morphed into a sortofa collection of saddish songs by some artists who never quite fulfilled their potential, were lost too early for humanity, or just wrote blindingly good songs. This is for Syd, Nick Drake, (For the record, the Nick Drake song is in my top ten tunes of all time.), Gene Clark, Jimi Hendrix, and a good few others. Say hello to Elysium for me, guys. Title from my fav Byrds tune.

A wonderful collection. Too many highlights to mention, although I'm sure if I was to compile an all time top ten tunes list, Judee Sill's The Kiss would be there or thereabouts..

Wow. How utterly depressing and uplifting at the same time. In my estimation "Buzzin' Fly" is where it's at, but it's all beautiful stuff... every track. Glad you're back.

Gerry, this is absolute genius and one of the best mixes you've ever done. I think I love everything on it and it appears to flow goregously... One of these days, we should talk trade again.

Excellent, Gerry - too many great picks to single any out, but the whole vibe of the mix makes for a really nice tribute. Likewise I hope we can trade again soon! :)

A fitting tribute to a group of people whose talents did not, unfortunately, include taking care of themselves as well as they might.
