I think Darlene Love was by far the greatest singer that Phil Spector ever had. To me, she was the female sound of Spector. Why she has never hit thr big time is beyond me. I know that she is highly regarded in the business, but to the general public she didn't become a household name, although everyone had heard her. She is so much better than Aretha, but I guess she just must have recorded on the right label at the wrong time.
