Comment:

What is one to do when fake lights and shiny wrappers reveal an irredeemable world?

The Aesthete answers: escape that world. Resign yourself to the infinite.

For those who reject this world of unsolved murders, wasted tax dollars, shitty techno music, and mixes without comments, another world is waiting. It is an endless world populated with perfect ideas, with flawless Forms, with exceptionless Categorical Imperatives, with absolute laws, with infallible dogma, whichever synonym suits you best. It is a world where nothing is wasted and everything is meaningful. Morality, let alone honesty, will not save you. Beauty will.

Sure, you could make the argument that this world amounts to a scavenging or even a denial of reality, but that's precisely what makes it tolerable. And besides, reality had it coming. That stubbed toe was just the last in a series of innumerable straws.

I'm tired. I'm having a drink and then going to bed. Things will look better in the moonlight.

It is one way to live. Welcome to the Aesthetic Life.

these are the things mixes are made of, & it's nothing if it isn't fun but also meaningful. you've got some great songs & some great notes to both accompany & ascertain your ideas. great job.

I do believe your notes are like perfectly placed lighting. The mix is cast into vivid relief by them. A very striking mix, marred only by the Modest Mouse track -- oh the song is fine, but I have an irrational dislike for the dreadful title. I realise this is not your fault, therefore, we'll say no more about it. Yes, things often do appear better in the moonlight -- I'm living proof.
