Comment:
80 minutes cherry picked from the 5 disc "Genius & Soul" Box Set. Ray's been a favorite since I got my first transister radio. Last tracks cut That Little Girl Of Mine, Drown In My Own Tears, Lonely Avaenue, (Night Time Is) The Right Time, Don't LetThe Sun Catch You Crying, Come Rain Or Come Shine, I'm Movin' On, One Mint Julep, I Don't Need No Doctor, In The Heat Of The Night, Booty Butt, Rainy Night In Georgia, Living For The City and America The Beautiful. Title from Unchain My Heart.
Feedback:
Excellent choices, very well done.
i have this boxset as well, & i have to say if i were to trim it down to my essentials, it'd look very similar to this. i echo barry: well done.
Worthy of the Man.
looks very tasty.
Well chosen. Track 9 will always be one of my favourite songs ever -- oh yes.
Very nice.
Great collection. Hard to do that cherry pickin'.
Excellent but I couldn't have cut 'Don't Let The Sun Catch You Crying.'
D'OH!!! You beat me to this, you bastard. Nice work, although I'd never on my life cut "Drown in My Own Tears," "(Night Time Is) The Right Time," or "Come Rain or Come Shine" (all three my favorite moments of Ray's, with the possible exception of "Hallelujah I Love Her So").
Yeah, I stared at his mix when it was at about 100 minutes and couldn't come up with a single song that I didn't love. The ballads and instrumentals ended up taking the hits. If I was in a slightly different mood it would have been a completely different mix.
I actuall watched the Ray DVD for the first time last night. Loved the film. It looks like this mix was probably posted while I watched, which kind of pleases me. Your choices are impeccable, must have been a tough task cutting this down to < 80 mins. Great mix Mark.
This mix got soul, indeed.
Hurray for Ray!
yeah! hurray for Ray . . . . nicely done . . . esp track 8 . . . always loved that . . .
24 classics. Good job. I agree with the Delinquent..
Hang on...I thought The Denim Delinquent was brutally murdered recently. Damn! You must watch these points.
