Oooooh! Me first!
This excellent collection has a nice flow both in audio and text.

Kissed Patricia at the school gates every morning until she developed a runny nose. Could've listened to some of this whilst eating me cornflakes at breakfast but truth be told can't quite remember! Nowadays of course I'd say nice mix.
I always have wanted to do 1969, and the rest of that decade as a matter of fact but now I don't have to. 5,10,11,15,17 & 23 all would fall in my personal hall of fame tunes.
What a great year that was! If I remember right, the hit of the summer was "Sugar, Sugar" but I could be off. Nice picks, guys. Lots of good stuff here, and #11 is an all-time great.
Well done. Love the Burrito Brothers pick!
hey it's my year, thanks! can't wait to listen to this. I swear I remember hearing tracks 6 and 23 in the hospital those first few hours.
A pretty straight-up great year, really. You even picked one of the two or three Three Dog Night songs that I can stomach...
Very Nice!Especially like the inclusion of tracks 2, 7, 11-12 & 18-21. Am happy that I could help with 8 of my picks finding their way into the mix.Would have been nice to see Santana's Jingo make the final cut, but that's the way it goes sometimes.
9-13 is just incredible, (That Tyrone Davis tune is in my all-time top ten). 3,15 and 21-24 are also gems. I was glued to my transister radio and Cousin Brucie on WNEW that entire year!
soixante-neuf . . . je t'aime.
Nice one. I'll give it a listen as soon as I can. And lol at tornadoZ's comment.
A great year for music... some evidence of that here.
great year once again, esp love the passage 21-24,
Excellent selection guys! Will be listening to this very shortly.
Also, I love the simple but effective artwork. Looks like a fine snapshot of 69.

Not to mention man's first landing on the moon! The result of an incredible effort just to invent Tang. Also my transition year from High School to Colij. All that's missing is a cut from Dylan's Nashville Skyline.
Awsome year. Even though I Wasnt born then... Great job.
I recall this particular year more clearly than you might imagine...Uncle Walter on CBS, staring into the camera, confused as to why all those children were naked in the mud and rain...The capture of the Manson family, and in particular the removal of the "HEALTER SKELTER" door...
Gonna party like it's...
Great picks.
Much coolness here, and some unexpected inclusions (the Kinks' Arthur is always nice to see, as are Thunderclap Newman and Nilsson). Of course, everyone has their own favorites; I merely point out the omission of anything from Abbey Road, the greatest album ever; the Who's Tommy (far from my favorite Who album, but still pretty revolutionary); the Velvet Underground's self-titled 3rd album; and Neil Young's Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere.
Fair point Pop Kulcher but the albums you mentioned were not so much overlooked as considered and dismissed. The point of these yearly appraisals is to put together different genres, styles and balance the famous with the slightly less acclaimed. It's not meant to be the best albums per se or indeed even the best songs from those albums.
Love it!
A box of delights. A great year, I believe Pop Kulcher's comment and your reply only serve to emphasise this point. "The Wonder Years" indeed.
Always love seeing new additions to this series on the boards! And I really like your approach to how you choose tracks from each year. I love that Thunderclap Newman->Kinks stretch. The Thunderclap Newman track still remains, I think, one of my favourite songs, so it really hacked me off when TalkTalk got hold of it and started using it in every single advert. Ah well, can't win 'em all!
