Feedback:
Awsome. I just put the Barry McGuire on my recent post. This is Wonderful.
I believe "grand", in this context, is understatement personified. Fantastic is le mot juste that best describes this collection. Oh yes, fantastic!
Continued excellence!
this is excellent all around - that beatles song must be one of my top 5 all-time favorite songs. stellar choices from the zombies, otis, the stones, the byrds, the who, dylan, james brown, the kinks, yardbirds. great songs from every angle here.
This is potentially my second-favorite year in the history of popular music (c'mon, folks, who was born in '66?!?) and this is a great representation of it. I do have to say, however, that, unlike anthony, I've always thought that "Nowhere Man" was one of the two weakest (if not *the* weakest) tracks on Rubber Soul (which is admittedly my second-favorite album of all-time).
Fear not Monsieur Conroy, the birth year thing was just the excuse to get us started now we are on a roll so stay tuned for a '66 mix pretty soon.
classic stuff
nice
the YEAR of Woolly Bully! That's what the world needs now . . .
Love the ol' Top 40 days when rock, pop and soul co-mingled perfectly.
Great year, and a great mix to match.
Looks beautiful. Don't know all the stuff there, but cant go wrong with Dylan, Zombies, Brown, Byrds, Beatles...and so on. And also that Walker Brothers song is awesome. Good Job.
Wow! Another amazing year and mix.....keep up this great project.
Simply superb.
Has to be my fave of the series.
Another great sing-a-long for the car. Props to you guys! Thanks. Am looking forward to '66.
A great year for music... but aren't they all. Lots of cool picks. Really like you digging up that closer but don't remember hearing Evie Sands in 65. I always loved that song. It was the Jackie Ross version that was a hit at the time. The song was on Evie Sands album that came out in 1969 when I first heard her version. There was also another version on the first Vanilla Fudge album in 67 that I liked. Dave Edmunds also covered in in the 70s in yet another version.
Wall to wall classics. Great stuff.
Fantastic year... great overview.
Definitely a fantastic year for music - and, like 2old2matter down there says, a great big sing-a-long too! I was about to start listing the ones I especially like but that's just about all of them! I will mention the Phil Ochs though; that is one of my favourite sing-a-longs. Well done guys!
A great year, a great mix. Looking forward to 1865...this could be a neverending project, but the best ones are.
