31. The Mountain Goats - Alpha Omega

This is part 1 (of 2) of an introduction mix to the Mountain Goats that I made for someone a few months ago (and just burnt a second time for someone else). The idea was to have an entire disc of songs that are all, in one way or another, about messed up relationships. I'm quite happy with how this one turned out.

Can't get enough Mt. Goats. I can hardly think of essential songs that you missed, except "Cubs in Five" or "This Year" but you have so many other perfect selections that I can't complain.

wow, what a great retrospective. well planned.
if mr. darneille keeps producing music at his rate, though, you will have your work cut out for you.

John Darnielle is my favorite songwriter in the history of popular music, so I obviously adore this collection. If you'd like to compare notes, I've got one of these (http://www.artofthemix.org/FindAMix/getcontents.asp?strMixID=86749).

AH! This is spectacular. The Mountain Goats are astounding. My first intro to them was on a mix from a friend; "No Children" was sandwiched between "Part-Time Model" and something by a crappy techno band.
