Comment:
Many people reckon The White Album could be cut down to make a really good single album. I rather like the fragmentary nature of it including all the filler tracks. With that in mind I have put together this mix which brings together singles, the 3 tracks recorded for the Yellow Submarine soundtrack (It's All Too Much was recorded during 1967), White album outtakes/rehearsals plus the original Across The Universe, all recorded during 1968, to make a third album. This third disc would be disc 2, making the White Album proper discs 1 and 3.
Feedback:
Very VERY good idea!!
Extremely well thought out...and, scholarly!
Very nice. Though I would find "Only a Northern Song" as sounding a bit out of place on the White Album. May have been recorded in '68, but to my ears more a throwback to Magical Mystery Tour. Not sure when Mac wrote "Come And Get It" for Badfinger, but that would, at least sonically, mesh well here as well.
