Comment:
I started this mix a couple of weeks ago and ran out of steam after 3 tracks. Then, out of the blue, I recieved an email from Sammy G asking for suggestions for a 'Mix of Mixers' mix. This goaded me into finishing this mix, a copy of which I have sent to Sammy as a list of contenders. Hence the title. Sammy's magnificent mixes are here
Feedback:
So much to love here, from the opening two to the closing two and many of my favorites in between.
Love it! The Louvin Bros, Pixies, Muddy, Porter, and Charlie in particular. Well done...
yeah, man! that's one of my 2 or 3 all-time favorite scenes in cinema history. & the mix? not too shabby - trying to pick out highlights is a bitch, as this is pretty great from top to bottom - the beatles, nick lowe, james carr (one of my favs) & isobell campbell/mark lanegan stick out to me though...but man i love the buck owens, louvin brothers, pixies, muddy waters & charlie rich too...
Thanks so much for this, Seamus. Such a great listen. Picks were 4-8, 10, 12, 15-17 and of course the wonderful closer. Cheers again, this mix is tops...
Well, you sure found that steam again! This looks spectacular.
Lubbly jubbly - You ARE a contender.
Better to start, stop, and restart than never to mix at all!
