Comment:

This is a mix I threw together last night after correctly tracing back my recent lethargy to the fact that I had neglected to listen to the song "Doobie" by Kinderzimmer Productions on a regular basis lately. Most of these songs are long-time favourites/songs that were at one point subject to excessive repeated listenings, but that I hadn't really listened to in a while because I've listened to too much sad and slow stuff lately. All of them are best enjoyed with the volume turned up a notch. While not all of them are "happy" songs, they all have the effect of putting a big smile on my face (though I should warn you that the Arik Brauer song has a rather different effect on most people I know, namely of making them scream in terror - I put it last so as to not scare anyone off). Some of them are sung in languages that you might not understand. Title taken from the Nothing Painted Blue track. The artwork might be too low-quality to actually be printed out, but I don't have a printer anyway so it all levels out. On the off chance that anyone wants to listen to this, there's a YSI link included with the first track.

Comment upon re-listening: Woah, I knew I threw this together pretty quickly, but I thought the transistions worked a bit better than they actually did. Got carried away in the enthusiasm of all these great catchy songs there.

Jesus! You included Grant Hart (via the Nova Mob), the Minutemen and Daniel Johnston and I didn't catch this?! Well, now I've rectified this: nice mix. :-)
