porkchops and applesauce: a second helping
Comment:
Final installment of Porkchops 'n' Applesauce. Grover Washington, Doobies, Carole King, Leonard Cohen and Hank Williams' 24 Greatest Hits were found in a short stack -- in fantastic condition -- behind a local Micky Dees. I could assume that the previous owner intended to toss 'em but at the last minute scribbled "FREE!!! TAKE US HOME" in black sharpie on the shopping bag. The remaining audio in this mix is thematic sticky tape. Click song title #01 if you want to save and listen later. Enjoy!Feedback:
hehe love this
Looks slinky. And Anne B. Davis adds spice to ANY meal!!!
Great concept, great covers
Dee-licious!
Ummm, I'm gettin' drooly just lookin' at this. oooooooooo
It's the other white meat!!!! I take me a heaping helping.....MMMMM. This must come from a Magical Animal.
Amazing how one man's trash is another man's (or woman's) treasure. Nice follow-up.
part of a nutritious breakfast! it's so comforting to see Alice there next to the chops. that's quite a find beneath the golden arches; Leonard, Shirley, Grover, Carole... look forward to the listen.
Yum Yum, Eat 'em ip! Nice find, nice mix!
Mister Conroy:I took tornadoZ's advice and included Alice. It does seem to bring it altogether.
p the swede:Thanks for chiming in early.

Feelin' this one!
It's a beautiful thing (well they both are, actually they all are!)
Sam the Butcher and I approve. Great that you were able to give these records a new life and a new home. Did you know there's a blog site called Pork Chops and Applesauce?
Cool story, cool mix. Always good to see unwanted things find a good home.
5 Gold Stars to the most prolific yet consistent mixer on Planet AOTM 2006. Very tasty!
tornadoZ: Not certain what the Daily Allowances are but this is more satisfying than a greasy Steak/Egg/Cheese Bagel with extra "breakfast" sauce. Also see (earlier) reply to Mister Conroy.
sport ! and Luke79:
If this were released officially, I suppose it would need a Warning/Explicit Content sticker attached. Track 7even - Megan & Sara phoning Nigel is a good bit but after a few listens sounds very contrived. The routine was probably put together so Nigel could udder utter the words "pre-teen h00ters". If you understand how radio dee-jays think and Top 40 morning and drive-time shows work in America you'll agree. I wonder if that's why so many people have turned away from conventional radio for musical entertainment. Discuss?

Wonderful stuff, Karen. Truly does justice to your found sounds :)
Oh my god! Oh...my...god!! Love the Doobie King and Crazy Bitch Cohen shmears especially.
Moe and bearFound sound is like buried treasure.
sammyg123:This is an honour coming from the King himself.
Curtis_Burns:Ta! I love those segues too but I like the YES/Beatles scratch intro. The Beatles tune is rather obvious. Can someone name the Yes song used at the beginning of this mix?

Wonderful! I don't think we have "breakfast sauce" over here but it sounds like something that would be really good on a Sunday morning.
Sorry, I missed this one, DJKA. It look like a real treat.
