Comment:

An alt-dj mix 'twixt myself and young Sam. The mix name 'Funk for Days' is of course taken from the title track, but also refers to the - ahem - sedate pace at which this was put together. Techy troubles and moving of houses (both my end unfortunately) caused a few delays - we began this many moons ago. Nevertheless, it was hugely enjoyable having Sam-sent tracks popping into my inbox, and between us I think we've done rather well.Three options are available for your listening pleasure:
Get the complete mix here, and parts one and two if you prefer separate tracks.
I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed putting it together.

Not since Prince's aborted Black album release and my subsequent attempts to get a copy on the black market have i anticipated a release so much. Ok I'm overstating it a little but I heard this was in the pipeline a while back and finally here it is. The Manc Maestro is on evens for certain. I will report back after digestion. Looks F**king tops.

Hi Ruth, just dropped in to say I thoroughly enjoyed the alt-dj experience with you. Listening now. It's mixed to perfection.
Pop Quiz.. The final track sold next to no copies upon release but was re-worked with vocals added in 2002 & became a huge hit. Any ideas folks?

Well there is a team that knows how to mix. Looks great, folks. But, no idea on Sammy's quiz.

Hey Barry, I'm saying it is the London lovely on evens. Maybe both answers will be forthcoming...

Excellent!! The choices on this are great on both your parts - nice to see Islands there, and like the Roots and Nancy Sinatra picks too. Not sure about the quiz but the hamster is going round and round in the wheel in my head!

speaking of islands, this thrill-inducing pairing seemed as inevitable to me as Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton. can't wait to give it a listen.

Cliff and Barry, small prizes to you for guessing correctly - Sam was on evens and I was odds. Apart from the 12-16 where we mixed it up a little before returning to the pattern - don't drink and mix, kids, it confuses things. What's the answer to the pop quiz?? I'm flummoxed!

Ruth, the answer was 'DB Boulevard' - 'Point Of View'. Great tune.. ( IMHO! )

unfortunately, had to wait to give it a listen. but finally sat down with this today and it's lots of fun, as expected. Ruth, I think we might own the same glorious Marty Robbins LP. the 7-12 stretch just glows, and I especially liked 19,2,15,16 also. hope you're working on a volume 2.

P.S.
Thanks so much for the comments and nomination. While I suspect Rob had more to do with that, it was unexpected for me.
