Comment:
This is what happens when I try to be concise for once: This mix is a spin-off project from this set of mixes, featuring a few tracks that I considered for inclusion on those but that did not quite make the cut, as well as a few other stand-alone tracks that namecheck other bands or musicians that are just too damn great to be disregarded entirely, but that didn't fit into the more narrow framework of these mixes. The opening sequence, of course, is one of the alternative versions of doing the whole ,Minutemen into Bob Dylan"-thing which I considered while compiling volume 1 of the set. Conclusion of this entire project: Mike Watt rules this game.
The cover artwork is a cross-reference network for the artists included on the entire set of discs, made off the top of my head, thus making no claims to completeness - as a matter of fact, I deliberately tried to keep the number of nodes as low as possible but, um, maybe I'll spare you the technical details on that.

Feedback:
I try not to swear on the interweb but this is f**king wonderful Alex.
This looks excellent, I must... oooh - shiny thing! What's that?
Dammit, I put that comment on the wrong mix, didn't I - point proven... Um... Great mix!
Amazingly great, and I'm with you on the all-around incredibleness of Watt (the Minutemen are one of my 15 favorite bands of all-time).
Got an Ochs tune on me latest & very nearly had a Ritter & Uncle Tupelo tune too. This looks most excellent Alex.
yeah! i like it!
Excellent.
Wow. My only complaint ever with this mix: it's "MatchboOK trick". Other than that, wow.
Ooops, fixed now - but well, at least that proves my point about my short attention span. Thanks JY!
wow.
Hah! You said nodes. This looks fantastic.
Great theme and execution -- which really captured my attention. Clever cover too!
This looks tres neat!
That map is a kick-ass idea. Actually, I would like to know the technical details!
No man is an island, except Jeff Buckley, apparently.
Great work.

Whoa, this is so great!
Hey this is excellent! For some reason I expected (naively and thoughtlessly) that the singers would be kind to those whose names they dropped, so I wasn't quite prepared to hear about all the bad marriages, meager obits, crappy harmonica playing, washed-out careers, etc. I loved it! Especially cool when they go into character, as in the REM or Lucinda case.
Outstanding tracks IMHO: Uncle Tupelo, Mountain Goats, French.
I am mortified to have missed this series. Where the hell was I? A wondrous thing is this. Superb nodal map and excellent explanation. It's that whole 'tangled web' thing made coherent. By 'eck, you are the clever one. Raised glasses all round.
