Comment:
120 minutes long. This volume brings you the music you would hear while getting schooled by video game mid or main bosses. Thus this album is titled GAME OVER. The Castlevania series is here with 4 tracks, 2 from NES' Castlevania II and III. And 2 from PSX's Symphony of the Night. Bloody Tears is one of the most famous of all Castlevania tracks. "The morning sun has vanquished the horrible night." The Chrono series appears here in 6 parts. The final battle from each game is included, Dragon God and Last Battle (with the latter containing many Lavos sound effects). Old and new Nintendo games offer up 6 tracks. Two great boss themes, 1 from Super Mario 2 (Birdo) and the fortress boss music from Super Mario 3. King Koopa's 2 musical tracks are both from Mario 64. And the classic Zelda series is here with Boss theme and Ganondorf theme both from N64's Ocarina of Time. Two Sega games are here. NiGHTS into Dreams for the Sega Saturn is one of the best games ever, with an outstanding score. The virtuoso sax in The Dragon Gave a Loud Scream is sure to get you. The other Sega game, Virtua Fighter 3, has been hailed as the first great 3D fighting series. Underground "Sarah in the Subway" is a great techno piece, complete with taunts, "Better run home to mommy now." Tender Steel "Dural" is the main boss music of the game, cool robotic boss and song. Kicking it old school are 8 tracks from the NES Mega Man series. Dr. Wily Stage 1 from MM2 is one of the all time great game closing tracks. Adding onto these are 4 tunes from the pinnacle of 2D fighters, Street Fighter II: The World Warrior. All boss themes from the evil Shadoloo are here, Balrog, Vega, Sagat, and M. Bison. All from here ( http://www.gmronline.com/info.asp?CatNumber=SCM-001-02 ) the rarest+best sounding Street Fighter II album on Earth (thank you ebay). Now to round everything out are 13 Final Fantasy tracks. 7 from FFVI, and 6 from FFVII. Standout VII tracks are Those Who Fight, the great battle theme, Judgement Day, one of the most ominous yet optomistic pieces I have ever heard, and Jenova Absolute, the battle music before you meet the games villain Sephiroth. (Note: Sephiroth's One-Winged Angel is featured in Vol. 1). From VI, Grand Finale? plays during the final act of the opera as Ultros attacks you (the hilarious and fan fav purple Octopus, "Don't tease the octopus, kids!"). The rest of the FFVI music on this album involves the main villain of VI, Kefka Palazzo. He was the first volunteer for an experimental Magitek infusion. The process was flawed, and although Kefka gained the ability to use magic, it left him insane, and lethally misanthropic. Kefka haunts you througout this album, first with his theme named after him, then The Fierce Battle as he throws Atma at you, "My name is Atma... I am pure energy... and as ancient as the cosmos. Feeble creatures, GO!", next experience the depression of Dark World played after Kefka destroies the world something no other FF villain could do, this is followed by Fanatics the theme of Kefka's zombie like followers, then Last Dungeon plays as you enter Kefka's evil tower, finally everything culminates with Dancing Mad. Simply put, THE most epic piece of video game music ever. A total running time of 17:38, 4 different movements which play during four separate battles. Featuring elements of Kefka's theme and the opening theme to the game, including Kefka's evil laugh. An undeniable milestone and gem in video gaming music. Album spine: left - Kefka battle sprite, right - Kefka normal sprite. Album cover: Kefka as the Angel of Death. Album back: top left from left to right then going down a row and repeating - Balrog, Dr. Wily, Vega, Atma, fortress boss, Birdo, Lavos 3rd form, Ultros, Sagat, Dr. Cossack, M. Bison.Feedback:
