Comment:

An end of the year mix, not a pick of the year so much as a bunch of tracks from 2006 and a few oldies that seem to go together. The Dan Reeder track was always going to be included, it only became the title track when I came across a picture of a large cat sculpture bearing down on a KFC. The picture is of a shopping centre in Catford I heard mentioned on the radio and then did a Google image search. The Dials link goes to their MySpace page where you can hear this track plus 3 others. They are due to release a debut album in the new year, they aren't the most original band you'll ever hear, but they steal from the best: The most obvious points of reference are Syd era Pink Floyd, The Flying Buritto Brothers, Love, Jimmy Smith and Dick Dale (not all at the same time).

About to check out the Dials. Great picks from Hitchcock, Jenny Lewis and Drive By Truckers. I'm loving the Beatles 'Love', and Paris 1919 is one of my all time faves. Great stuff..
