+lan Vital, the Celestial Dawn
Comment:
And thus the universe began, not with a bang but a cosmic murmur. Over thirteen billion years ago the fabric of the universe unravelled in immeasurable clouds of scorching gas and vast waves of subatomic particles. Over time and out of the immense and frenetic whirlpool of creation, the Tlan vital (or `vital force') of our universe shaped order out of chaos, and there emerged the great clouds of gas, stars and galaxies of which we are now but an intricate part. Roughly three billion years later, our own Milky Way galaxy swirled into existence, and six billion years after that the first single-celled creature awoke on a lonely life-friendly planet. From there arose the Cambrian explosion, a biological outburst like no other, self-organized by a blind watch-maker and forever evolving, forever growing in complexity; water, fire, earth, forest, rivers, lakes, oceans, mountains, glaciers, trees, flowers, rain, thunder, and clouds; insects, reptiles, birds, mammals, life-forms of every design. and, before the advent of man, so untouched, so sublime, so primal. The earth, a living organism, revolved in harmony around the sun, and the universe, after billions of years of cosmic serenity, knew nothing else."If the universe is not meaningless, what is its meaning? For me, this meaning is to be found in the structure of the universe, which happens to be such as to produce thought by way of life and mind. Thought, in turn, is a faculty whereby the universe can reflect upon itself, discover its own structure, and apprehend such immanent entities as truth, beauty, goodness, and love. Such is the meaning of the universe, as I see it." - Christian de Duve, Vital Dust: Life as a Cosmic Imperative

Feedback:
A mix worthy of beellions and beellions of stars, but you'll have to do with five.
Welcome back. I'll be listening to this soon...
Wow, gotta here this one.... great notes!
You're back with a bang!
This is a grest-looking mix. I'm looking forward to listening to it.
Yes, great looking indeed.
My, ain't we a brainy bunch on AotM this week. I spent the weekend at a conference on Science + Society, so my head is in just the right place for this.
Beautiful. Up & down the Axis Mundi...
Hold on, hold on...before this slips off the recent submissions board...Geez, this looks frikkin suh-weeeeet. There are so many great looking tracks/artists represented. How the heck did I overlook this? And, a LINK!!!!! Oh my, indeed!
This looks beautiful, Great cover art also. Cheers for the DL, I'll be listening later...
What a fantastic return to the boards - this looks like a truly inspiring listen. And what better sentiment for an inspiring universe. Well done.
thanks for sharing this one. loved the Gang Gang Dance and Sigur Ros tracks, but otherwise I lost my way in the playlist, and simply went swirling around in the swim of lovely soundness. it was a hard and furious day at work but, listening to this, it was as if I was in a bubble bath the whole time. very nice.
Ah, missed the link to this, Alex, but nice to see you're back on the boards. A very good idea, and although I don't know a jot of this, of course I trust the opinions of those below.
Oh yes. Love the inclusion of Gang Gang Dance on any mix.
