Comment:

This one kind of documents my current obsession with finger-picked guitars. Which is not to say that all of these songs are necessarily finger-picked. Or, if they are, that the instrument being picked is always a guitar. Or - no, wait, the more I try to explain, the less sense this is going to make. So, yeah, you can download this one here.

Title from the De Kift track, which is based on a poem by Sergey Yesenin. While the English translation of the poem differs from the Dutch one (and makes no sense as a mix title, though for all I know it might be closer to the original Russian), the line literally means "All of this is going to become vague now". I believe the title also justifies my closing triplet, which doesn't really fit the parameters of the rest of the mix, but needed to be there anyway, just because.

Wonderful. The Jansch, Basho, Bailey, Kink and Jack Rose are particular favorites. Uhm, great pickings.

While I know a lot of these, there's about 1/3 I don't, so downloading is required! Looks wonderful, as usual.

Yowza. Downloading would be required even if I knew all of these, because it looks tremendous, as per usual. I've a pretty substantial obsession with finger-picked guitars, myself...

Just brilliant! Kind of like your mother's (and yourself's) cooking - I'm really getting tired of having to repeat the same obvious praise over and over (not that I'm asking you to make a mix that sucks to relieve me, mind you!)

Yikes, I was putting something like this together a while back and gave up. Quite a few of these artists were involved too. Thee, Stranded Horse is my discovery of the year so far. Love it. Great job.

Glad to hear you're digging Thee, Stranded Horse, Barry. I haven't heard the debut album yet, because I'm a romantic fool who prefers checking the label website every morning to see if it's out yet to hitting up slsk, but I swear there are days where I think that that 7" single is the best thing I own. Not sure if you're aware of that, but Encre is essentially the same guy (and the same kora) and also quite noteworthy.

the perfect soundtrack for this morning's weather. It's rainy and gray here today, and your mix made me feel melancholy, but with a smile. nice work.

I finally got around to listen to this mix--it's been on my desktop for a month now. A very nice mix indeed. With one exception I like the instrumental pieces better, and I wonder if this hadn't worked better as an all-instrumental mix; but then again, tastes differ. Thanks for a stimulating listening experience.
