The Importance of Being Ernie
Comment:
This mix is a compilation of tunes by a tremendous blues guitarist from Pittsburgh, Ernie was a student of the Rev, Gary Davis and a practitioner of Piedmont, Delta and Texas Blues and Ragtime Guitar. He is probably better known for a series of instructional videos teaching the styles of Rev. Davis, Blind Willie McTell, Lightnin Hopkins and Mance Lipscomb. For fans of Acoustic Blues Guitar the first track is a link. Title is from the Pittsburgh City Paper article by David Paluzzi which first told me Ernies story (I had been on a couple shows with him in the late 90s). Enjoy

Feedback:
This is some damned fine shit! This is the first time I've heard this guy - and boy has a void in my life been filled. Thanks, Mark!
Don't know who this guy is Mark, but I'm delighted you've posted a link. Soon I will...
This guy is GREAT. The only lesson I've ever taken in my life was from Ernie.
I'm a fan.
I'd like to hear this. Strange that I'm saying this, as I live in the 'burgh, but I approach these types of fellas (i.e., modern blues dudes) with extreme caution.
Wow. Thank you for the link. This was very enlightning.
