Dubstep is without question the most exciting emerging musical genre in the world. It's a musical style that closes the gap between Dub, Reggae, Hip-Hop, 2-step, UK Garage, and Drum n' Bass. It's a unique sound that despite its distinctive characteristics is flexible and malleable enough to have strains of anything from Techno, Metal, or Salsa in its makeup.

What you're dealing with, primarily, is bass: sub-bass, and lots of it. Over a low bpm, sparsely arranged drum track, flows the thickest, warmest bass you've ever heard. And, in the words of one of the scenes gurus Kode 9, "on top of that, in a perfect world, anything goes."

I'm no expert; I've only been into for about 12 months, that's why this is a layman's mix. The tracklisting isn't meant to reflect anything of a history or chronology of the scene, just what I thought was a suitable order to enjoy them in. I hope I can spread the word, and I hope that this sparks your enthusiasm and imagination.
