Comment:

This was a little hard because well, The Pixies just have too many good songs, damnit. I tried to limit myself to a maximum of 5 songs per album and stick to the really essential stuff. My introduction to them was Death To The Pixies, and between the studio and live disc had thus heard half or more of Doolittle, Surfer Rosa and Come On Pilgrim before I'd even bought any of those albums. So there's a bunch more really good songs I would have used were this just a disc for me, but this way she can discover the likes of "Dead", "Holiday Song" and "River Euphrates" on her own.

The Pixies cover of "Head On" moves me like few do. Well done single artist mix.

A great Pixies intro album. I know I've put "Where is my mind?" on countless mixtapes I've made for people. it's a song that never gets old!!

Tough to make a bad Pixies primer. This is pretty similar to my own (if I had to quibble, it would be over the omission of their dynamite cover of Neil Young's "Winterlong"). Great title, by the way.

You've got "Hey" on there twice?
It's a great song, but maybe you can sub one out for "Nimrod's Son"?
You had lots of great material to wade through. Good job whittling it down.

Heh, I messed up typing the tracklisting, apparently. Fixing it right now.
