Comment:

Well, I think this checks out. One Beatles song and one song from the sixties (Come Together), one from each other decade, one song from each artist. Seems like it leans towards some stuff a little more, yet it is all over the place at the same time.

One of my favorite Costello tunes, definitely an optimal pick for this theme. Can't go wrong with those Beatles and Stripes picks, either (Chris Thile of Nickel Creek did a nice bluegrass cover of the latter).

"Bone Machine" would easily make my list, and a bunch of the other picks (Sleater-Kinney, Funkadelic, Gun Club, Modern Lovers, etc.) are great too. Interesting Pavement choice; I would've gone with "Silence Kit" or "Stereo", and most folks I know love "Summer Babe".

Some great choices from fantastic albums. 2-4, 6-8 12 and the 14-close stretches all do it for me. Great stuff...
