Comment:

This is a three-fold mix. It is my birthday mix for my daughter Becky's birthday, it is my favorite tracks that I have heard in 2007 and it is my International Mixtape Project submission for september. We are 2/3rds way through the year so I will stir the pot and start talking about best songs and albums of 2007. My songs are listed above and cds are Play It As It Lays, Patti Scialfa; West, Lucinda Williams; Baby 81, Black Rebel Motorcycle Club; I Am Your Man, Ryan Shaw. Of course the Bruce Springsteen cd isn't released yet so hang on but this list is year to date. Please love/hate this and let me know what you are thinking.

Oooh, Pink Martini's album is fanTAStic. The Shins is also a good CD, and now I'm dying to hear the Holmes Brothers sing Elvis Costello.

I'm also on the "love it" end of the spectrum here, and unable to fathom why anyone would opt to hate this. Like Barry, my favourite here is probably that Clientele track (although the album on the whole didn't do much for me). Lucky daughter!

2,5 & 6 are my stand out tracks (mind you don't know a great deal else)trusting the rest is of your usual high standard and gotta check out 'The Clientele now! I thought I'd start work on my year end mix soon cos 2007 has been my fave year for music in decades and I'm gonna have to cull some excellent tracks in order to squeeze my faves onto a single mix.

1,3,and 4 are my favorites (but then you know I'm in love with Lucinda) the rest aren't as familiar to me (how sad is that?)-can't wait for Bruce's new CD!

Well, I can't say that I come close to sharing Pollyanna's enthusiam for your mix, but I do share a fraction and I hope that's enough. Pretty cool mix. I'm gonna have to check out that Wynton Marsalis album.

There's always room for Pink Martini. Also, I'm with Salman1 on the Wynton Marsalis. Chairs and belated birthday fishes to Becky!!!
