Comment:
This is the second half of a collaboration with this site's sophomore slugger Sammy and aging veteran Moe. We reversed the roles this time: The recently prolific Sammy supplied me with 15 (fantastic) random tunes and I had to come up with songs that connected them. He also took on the responsibilty of creating a cover based on my title suggestion. It was a pleasure putting this together with my esteemed AOTM colleague, as we're both fans of unadulterated pop music and tangerines. So any guesses on who's the odd one and who's the even balanced one? It shouldn't be easy. Even my own mother got it wrong.MIX
Feedback:
This is absolutely fantastic, fellas. I'm particularly loving the Monkees, Zumpano, Left Banke and Bread picks.
Jeez , this is a hard one. I'm gonna say Moe is odd, Sammy's even. Lots of great songs here. Always great to see Elis (The love of my life) Regina. What song is that title from, is it a Sopwith Camel song? AAARRGG I know I know it...great , now I'll be tortured all day
Love randy scouse git and the rest of this.
The two princes of pop, pop up for a predictably peachy piece of pop pie. Sam = odds, Moe = evens. Everyone else = cock-a-hoop. Cheers fellas.
Little Willy? Brilliant! Based on that alone I'm going to put Sammy on the odds. (which would put Moe on Bread, Tony Orlando and Jack Wild, you're right, this is tough.) Nice work fellas.
Wow...a mix with a_peal that's looking tart & tangy. Excellent work, fellas.
My guess would have been the same as Barry's and Mark's, although it's based on the very few songs I know here at all, so I can't be sure. Either way, I'm sure the odds and evens are equally fantastic here!
wait till my ears get a hold onto this...
Just chipping in to say thanks Ion, I think this turned out grrreat! I think I'm on odds but it is a tough call :)
Do you sleep Sam? Nice one guys, think I mighta guessed right. A tangerine dream of a mix!!!
Samoe Mammy. Double the fun, double the delight. Odd or evens? There are all prime numbers, so to speak.
What a delightful listen. Specifically like 9-11 stretch and that 19-24 stretch is damn glorious! Wonderful collaberation.
What a great looking mix - I can't wait to hear this!! Clearly Ion is evens...
you know I want every mix you do
The opening song is your choice. I reached this conclusion because you once made a mix tape for Kathryn which was 36% Darling Buds. And no.21 is very you.....so it's odd numbers Moe....am I Columbo or Clouseau?
Rupert, I'm afraid you're neither, as it is I who took the odds. Woo Ha Ha Ha...
Like 2 peas in a pod Ion & myself..

Dreamy tangerine sounds? Yes, please.
whooopie! finally bit into this fruit yesterday and it was sweet. so many favorites: eight, thirteen, fourteen, sixteen, eighteen, nineteen, twenty-one, twenty-five... see? that Miki Obata track is amazing, as is the one by.... ok I'll say it. Bread! and I think Claudine Longet has one of my favorite voices in this world - or any other, for that matter. as to the odds vs. evens, I was completely confounded. well done, fellas.
Fuckin' hot mix guys! I'm a big fan of the high energy alternator. This is my new favorite mix!

We're not worthy! This looks fantastic...And just when you (me, actually) think you've got a pretty good knowledge of all things POP, something like comes along like a bucket of ice water to the face...I echo P the Swede's comment...Really great work!
