STRANGELY EMPTY XXIV: Bukkake Ruined My Carpet
Comment:
"The KKK Took My Baby Away" is a song written by Joey Ramone. It appears on the Ramones' 1981 album Pleasant Dreams. Many Ramones fans claim that the song was penned by Joey after Ramones' guitarist Johnny Ramone "stole" Joey's ex-girlfriend Linda from him, although he claims that he wrote the song years before the incident. The KKK reference refers to Johnny's conservative political stance, which influenced Johnny's management of the band in a militant, slighty authoritarian way. Johnny first started to cheat on his girlfriend at the time, to see Linda. When he wanted to see one girl he would claim to visit his uncle in Philadelphia. To add insult to injury, Johnny eventually married Linda, while his relationship with Joey never recovered-even when Joey was stricken with cancer.
Joan Jett saw the Arrows perform "I Love Rock 'n' Roll" on a television show when she was touring England with The Runaways. She first recorded it in 1979 with two of the Sex Pistols: Steve Jones and Paul Cook. This first version was not a hit. In 1982, Jett re-recorded the song, this time with her band, the Blackhearts, and this recording became a U.S. Billboard Hot 100 number-one single for seven weeks, effectively launching Jett's solo career. Its success propelled Jett's I Love Rock 'n' Roll album to number two in the U.S.
On 24 February 2006, the Sex Pistols were officially inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but they refused to attend the induction, calling the museum a "piss stain".
The Sex Pistols, including Steve Jones, will play a gig for the 30th anniversary of Never Mind The Bollocks at the Brixton Academy on November 8, 2007. Due to popular demand, two further gigs were announced on 9 November and 10 November. All three gigs sold out within 5 minutes. This demand led to two further gigs being announced, making five in total. A further gig in Brixton on November 12 will be followed by one at the MEN Arena in Manchester on the November 17.
Paul Cook's other musical activities included playing drums for Edwyn Collins and Bananarama. Today Cook is a content family man, living in Shepherds Bush with his wife Jenny and their daughter Holly. He continues to work as a session musician for Edwyn Collins.

This one kicks major ass top to bottom.
Hot stuff, DJK. And who was cleaning the carpet while you were at the scanner with your copy of Times Square?
the world needs more Edwyn Collins,
a+ for the title. the music's not my thing.
I'll skip tracks 4 & 5 but the rest is well worth a listen.
Hey Cliff! Don't skip becuz 3-5 is where you will hear some fancy rock 'n roll beat-matching. Rats! Now I've gone and spoiled it for ev'ryone.
Oh... MY!!!Superb notes... and somewhere, I have the Joan Jett and The Sex Pistols (minus 2) version... Little known fact: I dated *a picture of* Joan Jett *from the centerfold of Circus magazine*
back when she was in The Runaways.
back when she was in The Runaways.
Really great then tracks 4 and 5 unleash this big horrid smelly burp, then gets back on track again.Having said that I don't think I ever need here Rescue Me again.
Looking forward to vol. II: Felching Fouled My Faux-Fur Fleece...Great picks, Karen - feel sad for Edwyn Collins.
First off, this is one of the best mix titles EVER! The tunes are (as usual) just perfect for smile inducing fun. And LOVE the notes and artwork, as well. All around, typically fantastic.
Wonderful mix DJ. Oh, and could someone tell me what Bukake means? I searched the internet and couldn't find anything.
Thanks all!
