Comment:

120 minutes long. VIDEO GAME MASTERPIECES Vol. 9: FIGHT!. A great Alph Lyla collection if there ever was one, and there wasn't, and there should have been! Alph Lyla was Capcom's house band that did alot of thankless tasks. Like composing great music for some great games and never getting any individual credit for it. One of AL's alumni is none other than Yoko Shimomura. If that name sounds familiar at all to you you probably know it from the fantastic Kingdom Hearts series. Ms. Shimomura is very prolific, but her best music is for KH, SFII and Super Mario RPG. As is quite obvious this entire mix revolves around Capcom fighting games and 2D fighters in general. The ground breaking Street Fighter II which single handedly kept the arcade scene alive for almost 15 extra years is represented here with all the original great character tracks. Also it's followup, Super Street Fighter II is here offering one of the best and most memorable arcade tracks of all, Cammy Stage. This link was the best I could do: ( http://youtube.com/watch?v=rB_r_vY5Jts ) Start listening to this right now before you read anymore! The best tracks from Final Fight 1-3 (Revenge and Streetwise so don't coun't) are laid out here over both rounds (sides). Mike Haggar is the coolest most ass kicking mayor ever! Apart from Jesse Ventura. (Yes the fellow piledriving the shark to death in the right hand drawing is Mike Haggar). As far as I know there has never been an official cd release of all the Final Fight tracks. I got mine from here: ( http://gh.ffshrine.org/soundtracks/1363 ) Also on here is Mortal Kombat 1 + 2 (the Death jam is alot of fun), Killer Instinct, Super Punch-Out!!, Marvel Vs. Capcom, and Saturday Night Slam Masters. SNS is a great wrestling game that also features Mike Haggar and his two proteges Zalazof (Slamkovich) and Colt (Gunloc). Did you know Gunloc is Guile's brother?! Well kinda, uh I don't want to explain it, go do some research you lazy bum. Until next time, STAGE CLEARED, YOU WIN, FATALITY, PERFECT, FLAWLESS VICTORY, CONTINUE?, GAME OVER! Insert Coin... toasty...
