Kites Are Fun, that always goes down well in this household, though we only know the Free Design version.
Interesting. I only know the Now Sound Redesigned version. I'll promise to check out the Free Design version if you click on the link above. I'm wagering that we all will come out winners.
love that robert johnson track
Looking good...like the Cannonball Adderley and Robt Johnson tracks.
Love the Robert Johnson, Benson, Adderly and Hancock tracks.
I'm listening now . . . thanks for the link . . . what's not to like ?!?I am amazed at how much I enjoyed Sade, by the way, and always great to see George Benson and Herbie Hancock in this mode.Hadn't heard 'kites are fun' that I remember, but enjoyed it. Ta muchly.
Yeah, liking the Sade, Benson, Cannonball and especially something from that great Herbie Hancock album.
My computer is being difficult, so I can't listen right now, but I like the look of this....
thanks . . . overall really chilled . . . and listening again doesn't Sade follow on well from Benny !
A great mix Karen. I've had trouble downloading since the g'spin format was changed, though I can still stream.. Big fan of the Free Design original as mentioned, but I also love Mellow.. And of course track 8 is a classic.
Michael Buble?!? Ick! Otherwise, this looks like a fine 'n' mellow listening experience....
gave it a spin, well a stream, and the CAQ was new to me and pleasant. love the robert johnson but i new that going into the experience. thanks!
nice. Like KathrynandRupert particularly dig Mellow doin Free Design
Ohhh...Rob![Best Laura Petrie-impression]
Is Michael Buble really that bad?!??
easy stuff on a heavy wednesday
Some of these picks are not my particular cup of joe, but I'd spin anything you offer. I trust your sensibilities to entertain and enlighten.
Robert Johnson, Cannonball Adderley Quintet, Benny Goodman Quartet, Herbie Hancock and DJ Karen Adams are always superb choices.
loved the Cameo/George Benson and Benny Goodman Quartet/Sade pairs especially. real nice set here. and thanks for inspiring me to go out and dig up Teena Marie's late '70s/early '80s LPs recently, Karen.
Your mix is king -- or should I say queen. You're gonna make it after all (cue to throw hat into the air)
I included "Phonograph Blues" by the Grandfather of Rock 'N Roll here in hopes that other AOTMixers will feature Delta Bluesman Robert Johnson in future mixes. Let's spark a flame!
Have mercy. Any mix with Sade included has to be worth a listen. I've never seen her live act but have several bootlegs of fine quality.
Unique.
Good stuff, again, Ms Karen! However, does anyone else have a problem with Mr. Buble? His voice itself is sublime, but there's something about his intonation or delivery that doesn't seem natural... like it's a bit mechanical.
Mr. Buble is the product of a CIA cloning experiment gone bad. Other than, that this kicks ass, from the Robert Johnson to the Herbie Hancock! Sade used to be our sweet lovin' (a la Isaac Hayes) music when we first married. We knew the honeymoon was over when I was mopping the kitchen and she was cleaning the toilet to the same Sade.
