Accidents of Disorder
Comment:
At age 52, former Clash guitarist Mick Jones has embarked on another career turn lately, joining forces with Tony James, ex of Sigue Sigue Sputnik to put out a CD after several years of giving music away for free on the Internet. Hearing a couple of their songs prompted me to dig back into the collection, not to his first band but to Big Audio Dynamite, the band Jones fronted after Joe Strummer and Paul Simonon kicked him out of The Clash because they wanted the band to return to its punk roots.B.A.D. was one of the first bands to mix club music and rock. Their calling card was a swirl of sound effects and audio verite, including a running motif of dialogue from such movies as A Fistful of Dollars. Jones still sang about the same political issues as with The Clash, but the emphasis was on dancing and rocking.
Anyway, that was the departure point for this mix which takes its title from a lyric in the B.A.D. song. Jones getting booted from The Clash could be seen as a happy accident unless, of course, you believe there are no accidents in life.

Feedback:
Very interesting. Nice cover and notes, too.
Niiiice. Enjoyed this. Thx!!!!
Can't get enough of Climax Blues Band, nice inclusion. I love that Grace Jones track. Great Costello, Macxa and B.A.D choices too. Luvverly cover art too...
Don't know what I like better...the mix or the artwork.
Nice cover and I like the tracks I know
Hmmm, not familiar with Big Audio Dynamite but based on this I need to check them out. Good stuff here.
I despise that Paul McCartney tune, but I will have to listen to the context. I did like B.A.D., they were very big in Latin America. Mick even sang with the Fabulosos Cadillacs.
