Theme - Break Up

Wire To Wire
Comment:
What do Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck and Jimmy Page have in common (besides playing guitar and being British)? No, this is not the quiz. The answer, of course, is all three guitarists were once in The Yardbirds. The 1966 movie "Blow-Up" contains a scene where the Yardbirds perform "Stroll On", and Beck becomes so enraged by equipment problems that he smashes his guitar. This scene was staged for the movie, as it was a re-creation of an actual event that director Michelangelo Antonioni witnessed at a concert of The Who. Beck has always gone down a different road from his peers, and commercial success has not come easily, at least in comparison to Clapton and Page. Nevertheless, he is a certified "Guitar God" and the impetus behind this mix, which features four Beck songs from different eras in different lineups.
This is neither a "single-artist" mix or a 20 songs/20 musicians standard mix; it is somewhere in between with songs that seemed to complement the Beck selections interspersed throughout. And, by the way, the front cover art was borrowed in part from the failed Big Time Playboys album.
There are two quizzes this time and two copies of the mix to be won. Quiz #1: Jeff Beck made a cameo appearance in which Danny DeVito movie? And Quiz #2: Beck is an avid collector of what? Hint - It is a recurring theme in many of his records.

Feedback:
answrs to the quiz. Beck collects AND REBUILDS hotrods, and he had a cameo in "twins". Nice mix by the way.
very nice. i especially like To Bring You My Love.
yehtistyle is a quiz winner. I forgot to add the line "one quiz to a customer" but didn't. Oh, well. Good job.
Beck is one of my all-time guitar favs, too, as is Robin Trower. Wired and inspired!
Even though there are none of his masterpieces with Rod the Mod, I'd turn this up to 11
i've never really checked into jeff beck's post-yardbirds work, though i'd really like to, i just never picked up the motivation, i guess - i love that PJ harvey song alot though
yep, young Jeff is a player alright. Nice mix. (And Alvin Lee! who'd a thunk!)
Just gave this a listen and it's great. I haven't heard that P.J. Harvey track in long long time.
