Comment:
I've been looking over mixes here for 2 months now and I have really enjoyed it. I'm hooked. I thought I needed to give everyone a little glimpse of my all time favorite music.I'm not sure if everyone on this site has had a song that knocks them off their feet because of its overwhelming emotional power. I am lucky enough to have found a band that has done that for me over and over again. They have a good sized following and I consider myself a poi pounder. The band is Poi Dog Pondering. Find out more about them at www.poidogpondering.com
I saw them in a tiny club called the 930 club in Washington D.C. on April 30, 1992. I have to say they changed my life on that day. If anyone gets a chance to see them live, I BEG you to go. I've seen them many times (they are based out of Chicago now) and the live shows are truly AMAZING!)
They are coming out with a new album next month. on my 40th birthday and my 17th year as a fan of the band. I've journeyed along with them. I've selected some tracks from each of their albums (almost). All are my favorites. (because I don't have any that I don't like) I hope you download this and give it a listen even if you've heard of the band and they aren't your cup of tea. See download attached to the "Complicated" song or here: Poi Dog Pondering
For a limited time.
Thanks.
Feedback:
I saw them open for Michelle Shocked in Cincinnati in about, eh, 1992, and they put on a really good show. Confess I didn't keep too much up with them, but with your inspiration, maybe I'll have to give them a second look.
I recall seeing them many years ago as an opener also. Abra Moore, who has a couple interesting solo albums, I beleive was with them at the time.
Abra Moore sang on a few songs on their first album. She recently sang along with them. She remains a good friend of the band.
