loosely speaking, a mixtape of sad r.e.m. songs, but my understanding of 'sad' obviously isn't concrete. the title comes from undertow. quite pleased with this one.Feedback:
I might have put on You Are The Everything rather than So Fast, So Numb, which rocks too much to be all that sad. Must do my own REM tape
good point. i suppose i avoided you are the everything because i tend to use it a lot on mixes. so fast, so numb is sort of disgustedbittersad, which i like, and the new adventures in hi-fi feel in general sort of tips the balance away from being too folky. ergh, made no sense.
new adventures isn't really my favourite REM album (though everyone I know loves it), but so fast is one of my favourite songs, so I suppose I cheer up whenever I hear it. i like wall of death too, although i suppose that would just make it even more folky.
