Comment:

The first in a series of mixes made of songs that I associate, for one reason or another, with a specific friend at college. I make them so I won't miss them too much. This particular friend has upped my tolerance for thrashiness a bit, but I think everything on here is really good. The Bane, Pixies, and Moby tracks take a bit of getting used to, although 'Both Guns Blazing' has an excellent and cathartic opening. The Modest Mouse cover is wonderful and different enough from the original that it doesn't sound like a repetition at all. And the Moby is definitely from his hard(er)core days. I'm strangely proud of it. Best listened to while driving.

'hats off to halford' is a kind of tribute to being gay in the context of metal... for instance (according to atom, at least), 'statistics say that the chances of being gay are about 1 in ten; that means there's a 40% chance that one of the guys in pantera likes men.' and yeah... Atom is a cool guy. so's his Package [very programmed drum machine].

1 of ten = 10%
that means that pantera must have 40 members
