the only real impetus for this mix was that I heard the first track a while ago and thought it was brilliant. So I thought of putting together other slightly anti-romantic romance songs. The plan hit a snag when I found myself REALLY driven to include the Mojave 3, which I consider one of the more purely romantic songs I've heard. But I guess it works in a way. Oh, and Hardscrabble is an occasionally brilliant band from Vassar College, contributing one of my favorite tracks and the title.
