Comment:
Not quite a straight synth pop mix like I was thinking of when I started out on this, but everything at least has that certain vibe. Ministry's With Sympathy is a total guilty pleasure for me - they're now known for industrial metal, but their debut was pseudo-British synth pop. If you know their later stuff, look up the "Revenge" video on youtube, laugh at Al Jourgensen's haircut and fake accent... and then end up with that high pitched little synthesizer lead in your head all day.
Feedback:
I dig nearly all of this a lot, esp. the Talking Heads, Prince, Kraftwerk, Ministry, and Tubeway Army numbers.
I believe Suicide deserves a place on this mix, Tacos.
no need to apologise for Ministry either. their early stuff is much under-rated.
nice mix!
Suicide completely slipped my mind somehow - I might well decide to expand this to two discs anyway, since there were a few other things I had to cut out to keep it at around 80 minutes - the Sparks track eats up about 8 minutes of the run time, but I couldn't bear to get rid of it or even replace it with anything else from the No. 1 In Heaven album. Even if I don't have time to make a second disc in time for it to be part of the birthday present this is meant as, I think I might just do it for my own enjoyment.
