Comment:
my first mix for this site, although it's basically a constricted version of a longer set for one of those internet radio situations. the title comes from a friend's hilarious renaming of a canadian pancake house we were looking for late at night, impossibly drunk and starving. mostly garage-y/indie/poppy/punky with a little digression into some other fun stuff before finally gravitating towards the messy noise that i love so much. one particular segue that makes me happy is the "crabwalking" to "vision of neal" bit, where both make oblique references to "skylarking" (one plays off the horace andy song, the other mentions some decrepit bar in denver named the skylark - nice!). 80 minutes on a maxell cd with cover artwork that i'll upload later (maybe). thoughts? love trades.Feedback:
Weird. This may be a strange coincidence, but my mother's maiden name was Mounty Fuckhouse. The original family name was the Irish, O'Fuckhouse, but her grandfather changed it to the more Anglo, Fuckhouse, in order to get work.
Yep, it's a sad sad day when an honest person can't get work because they're an O'Fuckhouse. At least he showed some spine and didn't go for the hopelessly Americanized Getonapartment, which I myself have encountered in the phonebook a few times.
Very sweet.
Yeah, this is damned fine.
get back to me 'bout a trade
hey ted! thanks sooooooo much for sending me this cd. I love it. and i like the other one you made too! the whole point of trading mixes, for me at least, is to expand my musical tastes. I think i want to try to make you another mixtape. Let me know if there were any bands on the one i gave you that you particularly liked...
ps I think its so rad that you actually sent me another cd! that was totally unnecassary! Two thumbs up for teapin!!! :)
hells yeah KEN NORDINE! i haven't heard that naem in ages! man, he's great
There was a Hunter W. Thompson listed in the Toronto phone book several years ago.
Ken Nordine - nice.
