Comment:

just taking a moment before i go on an extended summer break from aotm to thank and pay respect to all of the people i've had the pleasure of getting to know via this site, starting with the first song on the first side of the first mix i got in the mail for a trade (rock on, mindy!). after that, things kinda go everywhere in no particular order. none of these songs should be thought of as tunes that summarize or define the tastes of the people that sent them, or even as my favorite song from them. it would've been impossible to put a mix like that together, especially considering the eclecticism of the folks involved. i did, however, try to pick songs that were unique to the person who sent them. personal highlight would be the fact that there are three songs on here performed by aotmers (muzag, rob conroy + sean lally, and conor via prof. poserlad). awesome! thanks for the great music, everybody.

Thank you, Mr. Pin, for virtually, single handedly, keeping us in business. If not for the revenue generated by these trades of yours, we would have had to raise the rates even higher ! We, the mail carriers of the United States of America, salute you. *COOL* mix too, btw !

Great idea, Ted... where the hell are you *going*, man? It'll suck not to see you around. Are you still going to be at your same address, because I have your mixes in a package ready for sending...? Thanks for the nod to the Donut People; Sean Lally is *also* on that song, playing the smokin' solo.

Oh, one more thing. I didn't know you wanted music performed by AOTMers. In that case, I'm sending you a CD of me covering side three of "Tales From Topographic Oceans" by Yes on my detuned kazoo. I know, it sounds like it would be apalling, but my mom loves it!

Ion is funny. Very funny! I certainly hope that's not an anti-Topographic Oceans remark. It's the best song ever to span 4 sides of an album! Heh. This is a really nice tribute to a great group of people. I have discovered more great music here than anywhere since (in junior high) my drummer friend introduced me to his older brother in the punk band. Teapin, you rock my world. And AOTM, thank you for the memories. I love you all, I really do.
