Comment:
just taking a moment before i go on an extended summer break from aotm to thank and pay respect to all of the people i've had the pleasure of getting to know via this site, starting with the first song on the first side of the first mix i got in the mail for a trade (rock on, mindy!). after that, things kinda go everywhere in no particular order. none of these songs should be thought of as tunes that summarize or define the tastes of the people that sent them, or even as my favorite song from them. it would've been impossible to put a mix like that together, especially considering the eclecticism of the folks involved. i did, however, try to pick songs that were unique to the person who sent them. personal highlight would be the fact that there are three songs on here performed by aotmers (muzag, rob conroy + sean lally, and conor via prof. poserlad). awesome! thanks for the great music, everybody.Feedback:
good gaww-lee...what an undertaking from the gong-man.
have fun on yr break !!
have fun on yr break !!
Thank you, Mr. Pin, for virtually, single handedly, keeping us in business. If not for the revenue generated by these trades of yours, we would have had to raise the rates even higher ! We, the mail carriers of the United States of America, salute you. *COOL* mix too, btw !
funny idea, BTW the guitarists in Pillisnorks is nowadays a great star here in sweden called Di Leva ( he try to succeed abroad a couple of years ago with "Naked number one")the Pillisnorks Ep is worth a lot today
Great idea, Ted... where the hell are you *going*, man? It'll suck not to see you around. Are you still going to be at your same address, because I have your mixes in a package ready for sending...? Thanks for the nod to the Donut People; Sean Lally is *also* on that song, playing the smokin' solo.
Wow! Nice idea Ted, and thanks for the pick :)Enjoy your summer.
Nice AOTM sampler. Enjoy the summer and stay in touch.
Thanks for the nod, Ted. That's some mighty fine company you put me in. Hope to hear from you when you return. Still got the midwest nuggets to lay on you.
What a great idea AND mix! Maybe we should have a mix of all the people in bands from the AOTM site...or not....
someone who's name with a "c" will be bragging soon....very nice young ted.
Glad to be of service, good sir, and a particularly fine selection :)
Thanks for the tribute to all of us, Ted. Your mixes which you sent to me have been brilliantly original. Keep up the good work and hope to hear from you soon.
*sheds away tear* Very thoughtful mix Teapin. I can't believe how much great music I've been exposed to since I discovered this site last August. Enjoy the break, but please return. This site is a better place when you're around *sobs uncontrollably*
Ditto what weepy Ion just said
Amazing.
Wow, this really is the spirit of AOTM put into one solid mix. well done, ted. thanks for the props.
A great idea, and brilliant execution..., yes: "Amazing."
wow. great idea, great mix. have a great summer.
incredible. enjoy your summer!
Oh, one more thing. I didn't know you wanted music performed by AOTMers. In that case, I'm sending you a CD of me covering side three of "Tales From Topographic Oceans" by Yes on my detuned kazoo. I know, it sounds like it would be apalling, but my mom loves it!
Lots of cool stuff and lots of cool company. Thanks, my man and enjoy your summer break. But mail me first. ;)
Ion is funny. Very funny! I certainly hope that's not an anti-Topographic Oceans remark. It's the best song ever to span 4 sides of an album! Heh. This is a really nice tribute to a great group of people. I have discovered more great music here than anywhere since (in junior high) my drummer friend introduced me to his older brother in the punk band. Teapin, you rock my world. And AOTM, thank you for the memories. I love you all, I really do.
if only i'd sent my mix a few days sooner! i hope it reaches you before you disapear for whatever reasons teapin. great idea for a mix!
"You the bestest"... I haven't looked around here in ages and then I happen upon this! And just after I was thinking of Red Bubble on the way home from work! Another psychic request fulfilled!
wow awesome. i honestly haven't heard most of these bands either...oh and i feel way honored to have de-virginized you. heh.
O· Otes-vous Teapin?
wow, i'm sorry i missed this mix. Come back soon buddy...
have you returned, good sir? i see you added that bad brains mix to your favorites. huzzah!
word up dude.
Come back Teapin! All is forgiven.
Last time I looked, summer was only about three months long -- not two years plus. This site needs you more than ever. Get back mojo.
Glad to notice you're still alive (and your track lists are here). I hope all is well & thanks for the good stuff.
